Today sees the second of our releases by a guest artist: the EP "Palms" by Brighton-based Effopren. Amidst an arduous eighteen months of university study (human biology and anatomy), Effopren - aka Frank Hopkins - has released his first digital release since 2009. The EP features 5 tracks, all of which are made entirely of raw samples, in an attempt to “mitigate any synthetic feel and emit an organic and natural ambience”. The track "Ruibos" features guitarist Mathew Renforth from up and coming Newcastle’s post-grunge outfit Demob Happy. The EP combines Frank's passions for electronica, folk, rock and all things alternative.
Frank says: “I Would like to thank Mathew Renforth for his artistic input and creative mind on what is potentially my most proud track of the project thus far and my father Simon for putting the EP out and for never making me take an interest in things - but always pointing me in the right direction."
